Chatham Jiu Jitsu Club Wins 18 Medals At Provincials

Chad Nolan took home two of Chatham-Kent’s 18 total medals at the Provincial Jiu Jitsu Championships

Chatham-Kent jiu jitsu took centre stage at this past weekend’s Ontario Provincial Championships in Niagara Falls.

Armstrong Martial Arts (Gracie Barra Chatham) and local affiliate academies were represented by 27 competitors and brought home 18 medals in total, including five gold, five silver and eight bronze.

The accolades were enjoyed in both the kids/youth categories and the adult category.

In the kids and youth placements, Honour Clark, Griffin Bayley and Ryan Klassen all won gold. Chhoeuy Seng and Devon Klassen captured silver and bronze medals were earned by Owen Diemer, Breanna Klassen, Jackson Campbell and Chris Matias

In the adult categories, Chad Nolan was golden in the White Belt division, as was team mate Frank Brady in the Blue Belt Absolute (no weight restrictions) division.

Robbie St Jean, Collin Parish and Elliot Blackshaw were silver medalists. Joe Thomas, Frank Brady (a second medal), Adam Gladue and Robbie St Jean (two medals total as well) with bronze.
