Brochu Named Rookie Of The Year, Vandenboorn MVP

Two Dresden Kings players took home some major hardware as the annual PJHL Stobbs Division award were handed out.

Goaltender Brett Brochu was named Rookie of the Year, while veteran forward Nolan Vandenboorn was named league MVP, while also being recognized as the Stobbs Division’s leading scorer.

Brochu played 38 of Dresden’s 40 games this season, winning a province leading 27 times. He had a .915 save percentage and 2.46 goals against average. Brochu, the Kings underage player this season, was a draft pick of the OHL’s London Knights last spring.

Vandenboorn scored at over a goal per game pace en route to MVP honours, recording 42 goals in 40 games. He finished with 71 points in that span. Vandenboorn’s goal total was second in Ontario.
