Vanderydt Steps Down As Dresden Kings Head Coach

The Dresden Kings will be looking for a new head coach leading up to the 2020-2021 season after Rob Vanderydt stepped down from the role this week.

Kings president Dave Cameron confirmed that Vanderydt has stepped down due to personal reasons.

Vanderydt has been with the Kings in various roles for several seasons, stepping in as interim coach in 2014 after Don Johnston stepped down. Vanderydt was an assistant with the Kings prior to this.

Vanderydt later became Dresden’s head coach leading the team to the playoffs in each of his seasons, including 2nd and 3rd place finishes in 2016-2017 and 2018-2019.

Last season the Dresden Kings struggled, finishing 7th in the PJHL Stobbs Division with a 13-25-0-2 record.
