Former Kent County Fillies hockey player Anneke Cameron won the Puck Yeah Exhibition Series over the weekend with her team the Cantebury Inferno.

Cameron and the Inferno play in the New Zealand Women’s Ice Hockey League.

After the cancellation of the NZWIHL finals due to COVID-19 lockdowns, hockey organizers went about planning this three-game televised series to help showcase women’s hockey in New Zealand.

Facing the Wakatipu Wild, Cameron was named player of the game in Cantebury’s game one 7-2 victory.

After falling in game two, the Inferno bounced back to take a 1-0 win in the third and deciding game.

Cameron is currently teaching in New Zealand at Huron College.
