Red Devils Looking to Stop Skid

The Wallaceburg Red Devils failed to stop their losing streak Saturday at home, as they lost their fourth straight, this time at the hands of the Six Nations Rebels.

After falling behind 5-0 in the opening period, the Red Devils played a strong second, breathing life into the Wallaceburg faithful with two goals from Lucas Beaver, and singles from Brandon Lilley, Joel Shepley, and Corey Lucier.

The third period however was again dominated by Six Nations. The Rebels outscored Wallaceburg 9-2 in the frame, ending the game with a 18-7 differential. Beaver capped off his hat trick in the third period, while Evan Mathany scored the lone other goal for the home side.

Wallaceburg currently sits second in the Far West division behind Windsor, with a 6-6 record. Wallaceburg will host the Windsor Clippers Wednesday June 5 at Memorial Arena.

The Red Devils were again without leading scorer Jordan Durston. Durston will suite up with Six Nations’ Junior A team Sunday and Monday as they face Barrie and Burlington.
