Pain Court’s Morgan Desjardins is now a two-time OFSAA champion after she captured an OFSAA gold medal Thursday in Mississauga.

“Last year I competed and got first in discus and 10th in shot put and I’m hoping to come back with gold again this year,” said Desjardins in an interview with CKSN earlier this week.

With her discus competition still to come, Desjardins took gold in Junior Girls shot put with a throw of 11.29m. The throw was a new personal best for Desjardins, who is in grade 10 at Ecole Secondaire de Pain Court.

The Junior girl was the Kent, SWOSSAA, and OFSAA West Regionals champion heading into the competition at St. Marcellinus Secondary School in Mississauga.

Desjardins will enter Saturday’s shot put as the number one seed when she’ll look to defend her midget girls OFSAA gold medal from 2013. Desjardins also won Kent, SWOSSAA, and OFSAA West Regionals in discuss.
