More Trouble For Dresden Raceway
At Wednesday’s Annual General Meeting, the Dresden Agricultural Society stated they are missing more than $53,000, with that sum having disappeared in the last month.
Over the past several months, the Dresden Agricultural Society dismissed and then re-instated president Lucille Laprise, and dismissed their entire board of directors.
The Ontario Racing Committee has stated they will not issue a license to Dresden Raceway until an investigation of the track has been completed, and the Agricultural Society has solved their governance issues.
Now however, with more than $53,000 in funds unaccounted for, it appears another investigation, on top of the ORC’s will be needed at the Dresden, Ontario harness racing facility. The Dresden Agricultural Society’s new 12-person board of directors will delve into discovering the whereabouts of the missing funds.
Dresden’s proposed racing schedule was slated to begin May 31.
CKSN will continue to update this story as more information comes available.
