Former Chatham Maroons forward Kyle Brothers has been named the 2014-2015 NCHA Freshman of the Year after a spectacular rookie campaign with the Adrian College Bulldogs.

Brothers currently has 43 points, including 20 goals, leading the NCHA in scoring, and the NCAA in freshman scoring.

A mutli-week recipient of the NCHA Offensive Player of the Week honours, Brothers was also named to the NCHA All-Conference and All-Freshmen teams.

“I’m extremely proud of our players who received conference awards this season. Their hard work and dedication has certainly paid off, to this point. I think that each one of those guys would agree that all of these awards are team awards,” said Adrian College head coach Adam Krug in a team news release of his team’s award recipients including Brothers.

Last season with the Junior B Chatham Maroons, Kyle Brothers totalled 57 goals and 122-points in only 47 games to lead both the Maroons and GOJHL in scoring.
