The LKSSAA high school soccer season was scheduled to get underway this week, but all games have been postponed while a match official (referee) contract issue continues to be settled.

Although some regions in Ontario have been settled, others remain without Match Official Assignment Agreements. The purpose of such an agreement is to have Ontario high school soccer deemed sanctioned, and to give Ontario match officials access to these games.

Although local officials and LKSSAA members hope the issue is resolved in time to begin the season next week, a longer delay, and perhaps other scheduling changes, or cancellations are possible.

This week, 12 senior girls games, and 9 senior boys soccer games involving Chatham-Kent and Lambton schools have been postponed, and will need to be rescheduled.

All eight Chatham-Kent high schools are involved in either senior boys, senior girls, or both LKSSAA leagues.
