Pain Court Wins Provincial Franco High School Hockey Gold

The ESPC Patriotes are the top French men’s high school hockey team in Ontario, winning gold at the Provincial Franco tournament in the top AA division.

Pain Court won 6 straight games, capped by a 3-1 win in the gold medal game over Horizon of Sudbury to take the championship.

In the championship game, former Chatham-Kent Cyclones forward Nolan Bernier opened the scoring, with assists going to Zach Van Dellen and Darby Lemieux.

Thomas Michaud of the Chatham Maroons, who captains the ESPC team, scored the second goal of the game, with assists going to Matt Gaudreau and Zak Mainville.

The insurance goal was scored by Jared Delaey, assisted by Zach Ven Dellen.

Brett Brochu, who was recently drafted by the OHL’s London Knights took the win in net.

Thomas Michaud was the top Pain Court scorer in the tournament, followed by Chatham-Kent Cyclones forward Deni Goure, Nolan Bernier, and Chatham Maroons defender Dylan Schives.
