Thousands of hockey fans and local residents flooded Downtown Chatham this weekend for Rogers Hometown Hockey.

Chatham-Kent youth played ball hockey, posed with the Stanley Cup, and fans got a chance to meet hockey celebrities on the streets of Chatham, as well as watch entertainers grace the main stage on Wellington Street.

The weekend also featured multiple Junior hockey games locally, and the renaming of Dresden’s Arena to the Ken Houston Memorial Agricultural Centre.

In the Sportsnet game of the night, which was Chatham’s live broadcast event, the Winnipeg Jets and Tampa Bay Lightning played into overtime, where Mark Scheifele scored his 21st of the season to give the Winnipeg Jets the win.
